I applied for a childrens place store card today and got a letter that says they received my application and are reviewing it and I will get a letter within two weeks. I feel like this means I was denied. Does anyone know what report childrens place (comenity bank) pulls? I do have a fraud alert on my EQ so I am wondering if that is why I didn't get approved. Does a two week letter most likely mean I am denied?

Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited?
I called about possibly upgrading my Chase Slate card to something with rewards and the lady told methey looked at my account and they could offer me either Freedom or Freedom Unlimited? Which should I choose? Since I already have a card with 5% in rotating categories in the Discover It, I am leaning towards the Freedom Unlimited. Thoughts?
Is the new PNC Cash Rewards worth it?
I'm tempted by the new PNC Cash Rewards card...
- 4% gas
- 3% dining
- 2% groceries
- 1% elsewhere
No AF, $8000 annual cap for the > 1% categories. Currently a 100/1000 offer through 8/31.
Anybody else tempted to get this? I'm also looking for data points to see if I'd be approved. I'm also curious as to how CLI's work with them. Thanks!
Care Credit with good score but high utilization + short history
Hi,
as I mentioned in a previous thread, my husband and I are considering to apply for Care Credit to help with vet costs. We're now thinking about applying through my husband rather than me for various reasons: I already have 2 CCs and 1 car loan, he has 1 CC, so getting another might not be damaging for to my scores and at the same time actually help his. We're also hoping to have a lower risk of denial since I already have so much credit, whereas he doesn't.
However, here's what we're concerned about. His credit history is less then 1 year and at the same time is utilization of the one card ranges between 50% and 66% due to a pretty low limit (300$ - we only got him the card at the time to start building his credit history - so far he has not been offered a limit increase; I'd already had one after that much time since opening the card). He's always paying his full balance on time.
His scores are pretty decent (checked with CCT): Experian 690, TU 710, Equifax 720
Will the high utilization and/or the pretty low credit limit of his one card somehow impact his chances for Care Credit?
Also, what are the impacts if I apply as a co-applicant to be able to use the card, too? I assume my scores would be pulled, too? But would my above mentioned concerns why we would try for him (number of credits) impact our chances?
Thanks

Failed Barclaycard recon
I called a 3rd time, but got a very rude rep. I asked her about a product change and she went off on me saying she already told me she wasnt going to approve me (i just asked a question, i didnt ask her to do a product change). I hung up on her before she made me come out of character. I really dnt want to believe that 6 inquiries are holding me back
Recon for AMEX CLI?
I see all the time recon topics when applying for a card, but can you recon for a denied CLI increase? AMEX denied my request for a CLI. I got the letter and they're going off my EX score from May which was 671. It's now 711 so I was wondering would they reconsider.
Citi AA Advantage - "We are still reviewing"
Brand new here, have been lurkiing for a while. Curious as to how it goes when Citi says "We are still reviewing your application" Scores are about 650 but with somewhat high utilization, bringing it down in the next couple of months. Probably should have waited to apply but since I did it, curious as to what the outcome might be. It's been about 48 hours. Will they update on the site or should I just wait for the mail and stop driving myself crazy by checking? Thank you!
When can I get a real credit card?
Currently I have an OpenSky secured CC(200) balance 5month old, CreditOne CC(300 limit)4 month old, 4 commenity store CC(1250 total limit SCT), all 4 months old and am an authorized user on an Am Ex (17500 limit). FICO credit score around 620 on all CRA's. I have 3 late payment on a student loan over 4 years old, zero collections, 4 charge off totaling 4000 dollars. Total utilization for all cards 6%. 23 inquiries in the last 2 years with 17 of them falling off next month august 2017. These were all from a car loan application.
I have applied for Amex Blue-Denied, Disney Chase Visa-Denied(2x's), Amazon Visa-Denied, Capital one quiksilver-Denied, Am Ex Green Charge-Denied, Walmart card- Denied.
How far away am I from getting a real card and being able to ditch my secured and terrible CreditOne?
Navy Federal
So......................................... it looks like good news.........................I'll explain
I joined NFCU sometime last year, through The Navy Leauge...........(Closed Loophole now) Thanks MyFico board members!!
I've been unsuccessful in securing any credit from NFCU, twice now and I've accepted that!! So, I've gone the secured route with a S1500 deposit and it will be going on 2 months, since approved for that.
Every time I check my "offers", nothing comes up -- I'm fine and I'm still content with that, as I'm trying to build a relationship with them....However, I now have an email -- from their "marketing" dept as stated in the URL
It's a pre-selected offer from them asking me to accept offer for a Go Rewards card!!! When you do get offers from them, are they pre-selected or pre-approved???? Here's what I got: ....... *So generally, is this what you guys get offered??
On another note, I also joined PENFED 2 months ago and they approved me for a Power Cash Rewards card with a SL of 10k and a APR of 14.74, which is fine, but that's a different entity and my current Fico is @ 730

Approval patterns for Amex, Chase, and Citi
Thought this an interesting blog post - the writer's experience when apping for cards at these banks:
http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/07/06/bank-credit-card-application-rules/
The one caveat he mentions is that this is for people with very good to excellent credit.
US Bank Cash + VS
Hi all,
I've been looking at this card for a while now. I like the fact that you can pick (??) the 5% rotating category.
When I check the prequal page, it comes up. How accurate is US Bank's pre-qual? Are they a conservative lender?
Anyone who has this card -- I'd appreciate feedback and DP's.
PenFed Application:
"Joint borrower authorization required"
I got an email saying this was required to complete the processing of my application, anybody know what it means?
Could initial fraud alert on my EQ be the reason I wasn't approved for Childrens Place (comenity)?
So I found out today that Children's Place pulled my EQ report and when I applied online the other night I got a we will contact you within two weeks message. Do you think the fraud alert is why I seemed to have been denied? My fico8 scores currently are EX 626, EQ 597 TU 606 but they may have went up in the last few days because some baddies were removed. I have a cap 1 quicksilver, a fingerhut account and a brand new not even reported yet kohls card. No late payments in 2 years 5 months. I have a total of 3 open collections dating from 2013 and 2015. I do have an old judgement still on my EQ. It is a civil judgement that is due to fall off in a couple of months in October. My utilization is at 7%. My oldest account is 11.5 years old and my newest is one month. Do you think there's much of a chance I will actually be approved if I call? I am hoping it's just the fraud alert that has caused a delay but that I will be approved for at least a small amount of credit.
Denied $500 CLOC NFCU
I'm really getting frustrated with NFCU. I went through hell to get proof of my grandfather's military service so I could join, and they didn't even ask for it. Applied for a card and was denied. Not too big a surprise given my scores at the time, but I've seen others in my range get approved and mine are approaching 600 now. Waited a couple of months for some disputes to go through and some payments to post, and tried to get a measly $500 CLOC (which I've had with BofA since my credit was sub 500 many years ago) and got denied. **bleep**, NFCU?
I know I should get a secured card with them to start building a relationship, but I already have two secured cards, and I don't have the whopping $500 minimum to open a secured card with them just lying around.
I just dont don't know how so many people with scores worse than mine have been saying they got approved for stuff at NFCU. My until is a little high, but it's under 50%, not massive. Debt is quite small compared to income.
I just feel feel like giving up on NFCU.

Chase PC -- don't meet 5/24 qualifications
Does Chase allow PC from CFU to CSP? I am NOT within their 5/24 guidelines. Also, my scores may be a little too low for the CSP. Just curious... I use my cards for dining every day. Thanks!
Synchrony PayPal 2% Cashback MC Data Points
Synchrony recently introduced the PayPal 2% CashBack Mastercard, earning 2% cashback rewards on every purchase. I applied 7/3/17 and was approved. Synchrony reports new accounts quickly, they reported my new account 7/5. In my CC Approvals post I had several questions about credit score needed and other requirements, so I thought it would be useful to start a Data Points thread.
General Requirements:
- You must have a PayPal account in good standing to apply. Cashback rewards are redeemed to your PayPal account. If your PayPal account is closed for any reason Sync will close your PayPal MC account. You access the Synchrony site for the card through your PayPal account.
- If you have PayPal Credit from Comenity you cannot have a PayPal Mastercard from Synchrony, it's one or the other. I had PayPal Credit which I rarely used, so I called Comenity in June and closed my PP Credit account. I have read that you can have 2 PayPal accounts, 1 personal & 1 business, to get around this, but I've had my PayPal personal account since 2005 and didn't want to mess around with it.
- Currently you can only apply for the 2% Cashback MC by invitation through PayPal, either by email or a banner when you log into PayPal.
- If you currently have a PayPal Extras MC you cannot apply for the Cashback MC, and Synchrony says that "currently" they cannot convert PayPal Extras to the Cashback MC.
