Common or did I click the wrong link lol? Called the Backdoor # 866-408-4064 and asked me to send that info for verification.
Assuming its normal as bank asking to see/make copies of ID when ya go in.

I applied for Citi Premier two months ago and was rejected. Reconed twice without luck.
Recently they sent me pre-select letters for AA Plat every other week. I finally gave it a try and was approved of 3.5k CL.
Is Citi Premier more premium than AA Plat? My impression was that they were similiar $95 AF cards.
I opened my Bluecash Everyday 13 months ago with 1k CL. It was my second credit card and I could certainly under Amex's reasoning for such a low limit. I've been actively using Amex cards ever since and was approved of several other cards with higher limit. However whenever I hit that migical button, they refused to go beyond 1k initial limit on BCE, even after I took the upgrade offer of $250 and product changed it to Bluecash Preferred ($95 AF).
At first the reasons given were: FICO score. It later changed into balance to income ration (3k total balance vs 8k monthly income), payment history (NO late payment, however I often pays less than full balance to take advantage of 0% intro APR). I payed off entire balance on BCE/BCP a month ago and asked for CLI again. This time the reason changes to FICO score. They listed my FICO as 725. Is that insufficient to support any CL past $1000? I am beyond confused now..
I thought I would share my recent experience with Synchrony, which is the issuer behind the LOWES store card.
After doing a considerable amount of research on this forum, I decided to pull the trigger on this one.
My rationale was:
So, right before ringing in a New Year, I figured I would just get an easy approval and coast into 2019 with an extra $10,000-$25,000 CL. I set down at my desk and took a total of 45 seconds to fill out their application.
Well, from there, it did not go as well as I planned...
Here is what happened next:
Well, today I got that notice finally (by the way, one nice thing about Synchrony's online applications is that their notice is sent as a PDF in addition to snail mail).
Reason stated for denial:
In reaching this decision, your application was reviewed and denied for the following reason(s):
NUMBER OF RECENT CREDIT REQUESTS
Just to share exact DTs for the benefit of others on this forum:
So, given all of the above, ***perhaps*** the lessons learned here are:
Lesson #1:Don't apply for Synchrony cards with inquiries in the last week (or month), just to be on the safe side
Lesson #2:Perhaps, just perhaps, Synchrony is not as inquiry insensitive as some people claim, at least under certain conditions (or they have recently tweaked their algorithm to be more inquiry sensitive)
If I ever apply again for LOWES or Synchrony products in the very near future (not sure if I will as I have some other plans), I will certainly update.
Thanks!!
Hello everyone!
Newbie here. Long time reader, first time poster. I'm learning all the lingo and acronyms, so bear with me. This will be somewhat of a long post. Hopefully you guys and gals can help me.
I'm in the middle of a long rebuild. I have never filed bankruptcy. Without going into great detail, I got in a bad financial spot a few years ago.
I followed the advice of a couple of "credit monitoring" sites that recommended I add 2-3 new cards to help stabilize my credit. My credit has come a long way from where it was and I'm becoming more interested in rewards. From reading different posts on this forum and learned of the prequal sites. Thank you all for that!
I googled some of the sites and one popped up for comenity in the form of a Toyota "store" card. My wife has a VS card and I'm authorized on it so I thought, what the heck. I prequalified for a $2000 limit and decided to push my luck a little and app for the visa. Boom, instantly approved for the Visa Signature for $5000. I was pumped! A few days later, after much research and getting a little greedy, I apped for the Westgate Rewards Mastercard. Boom, approved for $1000. After a couple more days and more research I apped for the Orbitz Visa and boom, DENIED. I also applied for the WF Propel and was approved for $1500. (I can confirm that WF uses FICO 9)
I start using the cards for gas, groceries and christmas gifts (got the intro bonus for both cards). No problems. Before Christmas, we went out of state to be with family. I went to a local Walmart, used the Toyota card to pay and it was declined. I thought, no biggie because Im out of state. Later, I call customer service and was informed that Comenity Closed both of my accounts and that a letter had been mailed to my home to tell me the reason. She ended up telling me, the accounts were closed because of too many recent inquiries. I gave her the spill about trying to stabilize my credit and how these cards are a "game changer" for me (I know, peanuts for a lot of you ladies and gents). She sounds very sorry for me. I ask if there is any way to reconsider. She says no. But, she also tells me to send a letter, and they may reconsider then. This all happened between Dec 21st and Dec 28th. I called a few times to get it right.
I get home a few days ago, and behold, 2 letters from Comenity from Dec 4th telling me that there was some suspicious activity on my accounts and to contact them within 30days or the accounts would be closed. **bleep**! Both accounts were closed on Dec 24th. 20 days after they sent those letters. I still have not received the account closed letters but they are showing on my CR as "account closed by grantor". Closed before I even got a statement!
Will a goodwill letter persuade them to reopen my accounts?
With both accounts being closed, with a balance, affect my rebuild very badly?
Should I cut my losses and chalk it up to a learning experience?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading. I hope you all have a prosperous 2019!

Does anyone have a referral for the 70K offer?
Got my card back in April of 2018 with a $3,000 Credit Limit - Requested a CLI today and the screen said they will respond in 7-10 business days.
Is this normal or is a denial?
So after my 4th statement cut, I tried to request credit line increase from $1000 to $2000. I was at first given 2-3 days message, then got a denial due to having too many recent credit inquiries. This only incurred a soft pull.
Last 12 months:
EX: 8
EQ: 7
TU: 5
The hard inquiries above is my best guess using my last FICO credit report as of October 2018. However, CreditWise shows I have 23 hard inquiries in the last 24 months. Majority of them were from car shopping.
How do I make them actually count 1 hard inquiry for car shopping instead of using all inquiries? I called CSR, it appears the representative was clueless and said something about reviewing with Equifax and there's an information that they can't tell me. I'm not even sure what that was about.
I do have Credit Step that will increase only by $500 and I have spent up to $900-1000 every month, PIF. I was hoping to jump ahead for more than $500 CLI.
Thoughts? Or do I stay in gardening?
Hi all,
I applied recently for the Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business card and was given one of those neutral pages saying they needed more time to decide. Then, in the mail I received a letter saying I was denied due to "the number of cards opened in the last 24 months." I thought Chase was the only one who cared about the number of accounts opened. Does Barclays have a similar rule I wasn't aware of? Thanks!
Both got the no-SUB pop up and then got declined. Reason: FICO score. Which makes no sense since 671 is higher than it was when I got approved in March. Obviously the system has me flagged because of my previous application and approval, which still shows in the app status page. Is there a recon procedure or did I just become the first garden fence jumper of 2019 for no reason?
Let's take a minute and bow our heads.....
Dear 8 pound 6 ounce newborn baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still so omnipotent. Can you please send your love to the folks at NFCU to find it in their hearts to give me the CLI increase that I requested. Amen
All jokes aside I'm hoping that i will magically open the app later today and see an increase in my limit. Not going to hold my breath though. I do have a couple questions:
1. If declined what is my wait time till I can request again? (6 months???)
2. Has anyone been denied a CLI on one card but granted a CLI on another NFCU card? (probably a stupid question...)
Thank you for any and all advice.
